FERMENTING CONTROLLERS
Fermenters are crucial to producing good beer.

Most fermenters in craft breweries have a single temperature set point which the brewer must keep track of, and adjust, as the fermenting process progresses.

In discussions with brewers, we have developed an automated controller that allows the brewer to load a profile into the fermenter and then track the process over time with both timers and trend data. Incorporated into the controller are manual controls for the cooling valves to allow the brewer to verify the valves are operational. Each controller can automate between 1 and 4 valves and utilise between 1 and 4 temperature probes.

Our software is customisable to allow different valves to reference different temperature probes as the fermenting cycle progresses. This becomes useful when tanks are fitted with more than two cooling zones and the tank temperature falls below the beer’s inversion point, being when the liquid’s density is at its maximum.

Brewery Fermenting is a complex process, so give us a call
and let’s get the conversation started.

BREW DECK

Brew decks come in all shapes and sizes and can be customised to your needs.

Even though 2 brew decks might be identical, each brewer has their own way of utilising the equipment at their disposal. We can customise our brew deck control to suite any configuration and use our software to enhance its capability. We can design a control system from scratch from new brew decks or adapt our software to existing control equipment so as not to incur unnecessary expense.
PUMP CONTROLS
Crucial to the operation of every brewery is pump control.

As part of our extensive portfolio of brewery peripherals, we have PID (proportional integral derivative) controlled pumps that can be adapted to pressure-controlled loops or flow requirements. Our pump controllers can be adapted to incorporate totalisers and can be stand-alone or incorporated into the brUm8 control system.

DEAERATED WATER

Deaerated Water is useful for blending and diluting beer when high gravity brewing is performed.

We have adapted our Deaerated Water module to replace the original vendor’s software to control existing hardware. This upgrade has added to the equipment’s lifecycle, improved efficiency, and allowed the deaerated water control to be incorporated into our brUm8 control.
CLEAN-IN-PLACE (CIP)
Having good CIP practices is critical to the production of good product.

We have created CIP modules that can be incorporated into our brUm8 control environment or act as stand-alone skids. We have integrated existing CIP skids to directly interface with bottle and can fillers to aide operators in performing CIP cycles which are approved by filling machine manufacturers. Once our CIP control has been incorporated into the brUm8 automation environment, we can automate the CIP processes of associated brew decks and fermenters.

As a family-owned brewery, our focus on making the best beer possible is not only our aim, but our passion. Working with the team at brUm8, we have been able to transfer our practical requirements into automated reality. Our contact, Farrell Atlas, demonstrates the ability to understand our challenges and work with us to achieve positive outcomes backed up with post commissioning service. Problem solving is a strength that a small business like ours really appreciates. We really enjoy it when they pop onto the island for a chat and to share automation ideas with us, allowing us to think, plan and budget for the next big thing!
